Our 2015 Great Lakes Area Motorcoach Association rally June 3rd is now history and what a great time we had! Almost 400 coaches attended and the weather was absolutely perfect for a change. The fairgrounds staff and the city of Goshen, Indiana welcomed us with open arms! Those attending this year were: Aller, Bates, Bearse, Bird, Chubb, Daubreese, Dingman, Dorrance, Hillberer, Ikens, Kaiser, Kelly, Kloha, Konrad, McGrath, Montgomery, Rypma, Vanderburg, Wierman and new members Wayne and Joan Kunze from Rochester, MI! Welcome aboard!
The Frustrated Maestros entertained us the opening night Wednesday and the new coaches were open for our browsing. Dick Montgomery passed out our new shirts with our logo on the back and we received many compliments from other groups on them! Dick and Kathy worked extremely hard setting up and organizing all the seminar events and we really thank them for their efforts! Our work at assisting the presenter at each seminar was easy and fun. Ed Bearse was up every morning driving the shuttle cart around and much appreciated. I’m probably missing others who worked so hard to make the rally a success but we really appreciate all of you.
Thursday, we awoke to another beautiful day with GLAMA sponsoring the delicious catered breakfast! Then it was off to the RV seminars, vendors booths, ice cream social while Dorothy and Kathy manned the Chapter Fair booth enticing new members to join our Northern Lights. The chapter potluck dinner that night was well attended and of course, we stuffed ourselves silly again! The night finished off with Gary Bunzer, the RV Doctor and Card Bingo.
Friday started off with donuts and coffee and the Frustrated Maestros again entertained us with lively music. A delightful 70’s degree sunny day spurred us on to all the activities we missed on Thursday. Happy hour was well attended and birthday wishes were sung (using that term loosely) to Cindy Konrad! Then it was off to dinner on our own and the Four Marlins entertained us with super music for all ages. Yours truly even won the top prize in the 50-50 drawing!!
Saturday arrived with the pancake/sausage breakfast while the pancake man entertained us with their pancake flipping and the Maestros again kept us lively! There was the book exchange, the rest of the seminars and the RV Doctor again keeping us informed. The day ended with a free dinner for all of the volunteers (us!) and a great vocal show by Sarah Getto. Mike and Marti Kelly and the Maestros’s even got to accompany her on some of the songs and of course, the audience added their voices to many of them too. Lastly, for those that miss the trains passing by, I’ll try to put a little sound into the photos!
It was a great rally and we look forward to the same location on June 8, 2016.
