GREENFIELD VILLAGE RALLY, GRASS LAKE
Fourteen units arrived in Grass Lake for the Rally hosted by Rod and Maggie Chubb, George and Vicky Daubresse and Jeff and Marcy Rathgeb. The group gathered for Happy Hour and Potluck. George grilled chicken for the main course. A few of the table offerings were stuffed cabbage, baked beans, tossed salad, corn, slaw, cookies and birthday cake. It just so happened to be Rod's birthday and he lucked out with two special University of Michigan designed cakes.
THE HENRY FORD
On Wednesday, twenty NL members caught the "short bus" to Henry Ford Museum. The group meandered through the displays of cars, airplanes, trains, furniture, farm equipment and more. A few had lunch at the Oscar Mayer mobile and after their review the rest of us ate at the Michigan Cafe. Our president, Larry and the Joyner's took in an IMAX movie that was the highlight of the trip. Another favorite was the display of the aircraft that landed at "Little America" in the Arctic.
A few individuals showed up in the rain for popcorn and beverages on our return. Let's just say the evening was not fit for a campfire and Friday was fit only for the ducks. Our rally masters did put on a great breakfast at the picnic area. The egg omelets in a bag were delicious along with the sausage, fruit and breads.
The evening began with a "Happy Hour" and dinner in Chelsea at the Common Grill.
