Northern Lights July Rally 2023
Alice Springs Resort Campground
Ionia, Michigan
July brought our Northern Lights members and guests to Ionia, Michigan. Hosts Mike and Leslie Ostyn welcomed a fun-loving group of attendees including Rick and Eleanor Payne, Ken and Alice Hamlin, Ed and Anne Bearse, Bob and Shirley Dingman, Tom and Marcia Bird, Ron and Janet Atkinson, Mike
and Doris Price, Bob and Bev Garcia, Ron Mercer/Pat Korloch, Dick and Carole Beauchamp,
Roger and Paula Jendrusina, Del and Anne Rockwell, Bill and Gail Battle, and Susan Bomer.
Happy hour began our rally Tuesday afternoon followed by a nice pizza and salad dinner. The evening concluded with a relaxing campfire by Mike and Leslie Ostyn’s firepit.
Wednesday morning after coffee and delicious rolls, the day was spent exploring the area and many took advantage. Some visited the Michigan Historical Center in Lansing seeing relics of Michigans past and a tribute to our founding fathers/mothers! That evening, the group met at Olivera’s Italian Restaurant in Ionia for dinner. Great food and great company!
Coffee and doughnuts awaited the campers Thursday morning. More visits to the local sites including a visit to a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright home in Grand Rapids. The afternoon brought us Picnic
in the Park at the campground, featuring giant hot dogs with all the fixens, beans and watermelon. The famous Lowell Showboat provided the evening’s entertainment.
On Friday after more coffee and pastries, we bid each other “adieu and safe travels” until our Renaissance Festival rally in August! Until we meet again; Safe Travels!
