Turkeyville Rally 2019
We just returned from our June Rally at Turkeyville near Marshall, MI and Rod and Maggie Chubb and George and Vicki Daubresse really did a great job as rally masters! With all the rain last month, the surroundings were very green and inviting and the sun was out! The domestic turkeys roaming the place all gave us a gobble-gobble but they probably didn’t realize we’d have the last gobble at the dinner theatre!!
Attendees were: Baker, Bates, Bearse, Bird, Chubb, Daubresse, Dingman, Ikens, O’Bee, Payne, Rypma, Sheren, Sroka, Verellen, Wierman, Woller, Zoutendam and guests Mike and Kay Cichon. Ken and Alice Hamlin came by for the dinner theatre as the campground was completely full. Jack and Arlene Martin from Cincinnati were guests of Rod and Maggie and ended up becoming new members before the weekend was over!
The rally began with Happy Hour Thursday night, getting reacquainted with members we hadn’t seen over the winter and a delicious potluck dinner followed. Friday morning, we were treated to fresh baked rolls, juice, fruits and coffee at their restaurant. Before we could walk off enough calories, we headed back for the Dinner Theatre at noon and had an unlimited serving of turkey, dressing, potatoes, veggies, salad and deserts. Wow! Just as we were getting ready for a nap, we were awakened to the musical sounds of the comedy play “Midlife Crisis” that kept us in stitches for the next hour. Excellent play and we’d recommend it! Happy hour found more snacks and we followed up with some games of L-C-R along with a coin puzzle from George that hardly anyone could solve. Saturday was more rolls and cranberry bread (which added to my rolls!) and coffee, etc. with the day open to explore the area. The Sherens biked the river trail in Marshall and the Chubbs, Martins, Daubresses and Cichons went to the Magic Museum. (See the trick George learned in the photos) One more Happy Hour and off to Schuler’s for dinner in Marshall! Do you gather our group likes to eat???? We departed Sunday morning after yet another warm delicious home baked goods and coffee breakfast spouting gobble, gobble, gobble all the way home!!
Thank you Rod, Maggie, George and Vicky and Kathy O’Bee! Everyone had a great time!!
