The Coldwater Rally at the beautiful new Harbor Cove RV Resort has come and gone and what a great weekend it was!
Attending were the Allers, Birds, Daubresses, Chubbs, Sherens, Sroka, Paynes, Conrads, O’Bee, Bearses, Kloha/Parks, Wiermans, Kellys, Hollister, Guisingers, Rypmas and Kunzes. Special guests were Bill and Darlene Jaglowski.
We started out with the traditional Happy Hour and Potluck dinner on Friday renewing old friendships and acquiring new ones. The camp allowed us the use of the Pavilion and the air conditioned meeting room with a complete kitchen. We aren’t used to such luxury!
Saturday morning started with juice, coffee, donuts, fruit and yogurt with the rest of the day to our own for the farmers market, Little River steam railroad, antique malls and the Turkeyville Craft show. Then after Happy Hour, we proceeded to the Broadway Grille downtown for a delicious off the menu dinner. The service was excellent and we were in and out in time for the Summer Theater production of “Damn Yankees” at the beautiful Tibbits Opera House a block away. The theater is the second oldest in Michigan and the professional production was stunning with lots of great laughs, dances and songs!
Sunday morning again started with the coffee, etc. and more of the same destinations as Saturday that may have been missed. We had lots of free time to just visit each other and relax until our 50-50 silent auction of donated items from the members during happy hour. After expenses, we netted over $350 for the club and donated excess cargo from our homes and rigs! We had fun with Al Kloha, Don Rypma and Jerry Conrad acquiring the most treasured items! This was followed with a light catered dinner of pulled pork, chicken, smoked beans, cole slaw, smoked pasta and chocolate mousse for desert. A good time was had by all and the weather over the weekend was absolutely perfect until Monday morning.
That morning, we gathered through the rainstorm for breakfast after a torrential storm overnight left a couple inches of water at each site. All too quickly, it was time to head ‘em up and move ‘ em out until our August Rally in Frankenmuth!
We hope everyone enjoyed the relaxed rally and were able to get more acquainted with our newer members and guests. Such a diverse group with a common interest – motorhomes! We love it!
