Our Hosts for the Turkeyville Rally were Liz and Bob Webber and John and Simone Verellen.
A big thanks to our hosts for a wonderful rally. The locations, Gilmore Car Museum, Route 66 Dinner show and craft show were real treats. Great Job!
TURKEYVILLE JULY 12-15, 2012
What a crowd for the Turkeyville Rally even though the temperatures were well above 90 degrees. I believe the final person count is 66 RVers. Here is a photo of cocktail hour...a warm up for the potluck. Bob Webber gave us a rundown of the multiple activities available at Turkeyville as well as the planned trip as Liz Webber passed out wrist bands to the Gilmore Auto Museum. John Verellen had bags filled with information. and General RV Coozies.
Today happened to be Rod and Maggie Chubb's 60th Anniversary. Also, this month Dick and Nona Wylie celebrate 55 years, Bruce and Dorothy Wierman 50 years, Judie and Doug Johnson 47 years and John and Simone Verellen 45 years. Best Wishes to these wonderful couples.

Friday
The day started with a fine table of fruits and breads. Did I mention "COFFEE"? A large number of members took off in the morning for a crazy drive to the Gilmore Car Museum. What a GRAND display of automobiles!!! Look for the cars that were on the Dream Lists of some members. With tired feet, the group returned for cocktails and an open evening. We had a raffle for two Bissell Sweepers and one Blue Streak. Jessica picked the first coach winner for the sweeper. It went to Barb and Jim Miller. Barb picked the entry for the Blue Streak. After Bob Webber made a joke about his brown streaks...he and Liz won the Blue Streak. As I recall, there were a few jokes about the prize. The second Bissell was won by Jeanne and Don Rypma.
SATURDAY
OOH! What can be more fun but a Craft Show in your front yard? A few of the ladies did their best to find an item or two to purchase. I believe Kathy Montgomery made the first buy even before the show opened with a very nice purse. It is still an EXTREMELY hot day. Always time for cocktails and a Dinner Theater. The dinner included....hold the applause....Turkey, dressing, mash potatoes, veggies, cranberries and dessert. At least two members lucked out with the drumstick. See photos below. The show was Route 66. It was a cast of four gentleman singing their travels from Chicago to LA along that famous route. My review includes nice singing, cute songs, fun laughs and a most enjoyable evening.
SUNDAY...end of Rally
Morning can be hard when it means the rally is ending and we must head home. You can see how rough it was on Jessica. We finally had a bit of rain in the night but still was hot for getting the rigs ready for the road.
Northern Lights members were happy to see members that have been away from rallies for awhile....the Hindes, Ikens, Johnston and Simone. Also, good to see the the Dorrance, Payne, and Wylie's. So glad that Sam and Karen were able to make this rally and with a new rig. Of course the Chubbs arrived with their ten day old Tour. We hope the Kaiser's grandchildren enjoyed their visit to help grandpa celebrate his birthday. A thank-you to the Johnston for bring their neighbors Larry and Pat Barbera to the rally. We are thrilled to know the Barbera's have join Northern Lights. Michael and Nancy Korte found Northern Lights from the website and also joined during this rally. Our group was very luck this week. Thinking of Char Jacobson, Dave Morton and Don Kirkpatrick!!!
