GLASS RALLY MASTERS
Larry and Char Jacobson again took on the responsibilities for the first Northern Lights Rally of the season with GLASS. They got a little help this year from Peggy and Bob Dennis. Thanks, Larry and Char for all your planning and thanks to all that volunteered with the seminars.
GLASS, 2012 It was just a beautiful day for Northern Light Members that arrived early Tuesday. We managed to gather in the shade for a bit of conversation to catch-up on our winter happenings. It appears the rally will be quite small in number this year with around 500 RVs including two dozen Northern Lights rigs. We will enjoy ourselves and our Anniversary Cake. I will post daily news and photos.

Wednesday's Activities
Our volunteers arrived today. It was a busy day of setting up tables, cleaning chairs and benches, preparing the dish to pass, Happy Hour, potluck, meeting and seminar assignments. We are ready to monitor tomorrow!
Our potluck was topped off with a marble, (not granite, John) cake to celebrate Northern Lights 20th Anniversary! Jon Walker, our FMCA National Vice President congratulated us for our 20 active, thriving years and thanked us for our commitment to volunteering.

Thursday's Activities
I have posted the photos of the day but it is rather late so I will continue tomorrow with a more detailed write-up of the day activities but in a nut shell....Coffee Hour, Seminars began, Vendors opened up, Warm and Windy, Great Happy Hour with wonderful treats made by Dick, Our 20th Year Anniversary Recognition at the Opening Ceremonies, Parade of Flags, Chapter Dancing Queen and Winning FMCA Number. GOOD NIGHT!
Friday's Activities
Today began with a Coffee Hour. No Maggie but Barb made a beautiful appearance. See photos above. There was a day of seminars and monitoring, shopping, a Chapter Fair, ice cream sandwiches, Happy Hour with guest and new members, complimentary meal, entertainment at the bandstand and several winners of raffles and one FMCA number. Again, see photos and captions above.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Barney Martin and Connie Kubiak
Barney and his wife Connie are from Kingsley, Michigan. Barney is the main man to coordinate and direct Northern Lights with their volunteer work as Seminar Monitors. The two joined our group at the Chapter Fair. We hope to have a lot of fun with Barney and Connie.
Randolph and Karen Stano
Randolph and camera shy Karen arrived at Happy Hour with friends today. The Stano had visited us two years ago and just never got around to joining us. They spend the summer along the river in Spring Lake. We are happy to have Randy and Karen as new members.
Saturday's Activities
There was a bit of rain during the night. The morning was cloudy with a sprinkle but the afternoon turned out sunny and warm. Members caught up with seminars, shopping, carpet cleaning, tow bar maintenance and rim polishing. Was there a Happy Hour? Jim and Nancy Anten had a visit from their son and daughter-in-law. The night entertainment was John Bressler. He is quite the comic but a true pianist. There were plenty of gators and pigs in the crowd. Jim Anten won a raffle and Bob and Peggy Dennis finally won with their FMCA member number.
Sunday's Activities
I believe today was a record breaker. Dorothy offer a look at her thermometer showing a reading of over 98 degrees. The group spent a lot of time under the trees chatting today. There were a few seminars to attend. Northern Lights represented themselves at the Laughing Yoga seminar. What fun it was and how important it is to take your daily laugh of medicine. A last minute dinner trip came together that took sixteen members to St. Joe for a meal at Clementine, Too. We rushed back to catch the second half of Glenn Bulthuis and the Tonedeafs, a Beatle music group. Al and Carol and Dick and Jessica treated us with a dance or two. Shirley won a nice looking beach bag. I didn't know that Al and Carol won yesterday with their raffle ticket. They did not have the tickets with them on Saturday but found their number on the board this morning. Our group did pretty well with the winnings this year. It's going to be a hot night for sleeping. Tomorrow is the Memorial Day parade and the "goodbyes" until the July rally to Turkeyville.
I forgot the big news...There will be no GLASS RALLY as we know it next year. It's a bit complicated. I am sure the next FMCA magazine will explain it all.
