GLAMARAMA RALLY 2025 “A BRIDGE TO THE FUTURE”
June 4-7-25 Allegan County Fairgrounds, Allegan, Michigan
We had eight members and one guest who joined us in the row right in the center of the fairground. (Right behind the Band Boosters food booth) With us were the Ostyns, Garcias, Birds, Hamlins, Beauchamps, Blacks, Korloh/Mercer, and Clines. Ed and Jan Cheeney, and Charlie and Linda Szafran joined us for our Chapter Pot Luck and after getting to know us, became our newest members. Welcome!
Our members were volunteers throughout the rally. Bob Garcia and Mike Ostyn were in charge of carts, and Mary and Teri both drove them. Teri worked with security too. Bev was in charge of volunteers, Marcia Black worked at the FMRV Store, and Tom and Marcia Bird worked at the seminars. Leslie Ostyn worked in Registration. Pat Korloch signed up to volunteer, but for some reason they didn’t come through during the registration process. It worked out anyway, because then Pat and Ron had time to go to seminars.
We were well represented at the Chapter Fair by Pat Korloch, Tom and Marcia Bird, Marcia Black, and Bob Garcia. They smiled as they passed out information and candy after the First Timers’ Meeting. Thank you so much for representing us so well!
There was no shortage of food of course, since we had Happy Hours, Free Any-time Lunch from the Band Boosters, the Ladies’ Lunch, Pancake Breakfast, our Chapter Pot Luck and the Volunteer/Officer Reception. The line went through the whole building for the Ice Cream Social. It was a build your own, with tons of toppings and cake that celebrated the anniversaries of two chapters.
There was a boat trip – The Star of Saugatuck (included lunch) and seminars with education on maintenance and travel put on by FRVA and the vendors. Several members participated in the crafts making jewelry.
The evenings were filled with entertainment, including Bingo, Movie Night, Sarah Getto, and Blind Ambition. The 4-man group of Blind Ambition knew exactly what kind of music we all liked, and nobody left while they were playing. The crowd even cheered so much that they had to play an encore.
For exercise there was a golf outing and walk for charity. The weather could not have been better. We even had our RV’s parked under trees, keeping us nice and cool. GLAMARAMA will be at Allegan again next year. Bob and Bev Garcia are on the planning committee, so if you have any suggestions, just let them know.
Make sure to check out the slide show below. The only people you won’t see are the Cline sisters – they were always on the go, and Bev Garcia took the pictures.
