Mason County Fairgrounds
Ludington Rally August 11-14 2025 MONDAY: This was a joint rally with the Michigan Knights of the Highway. The following members attended: Mike and Leslie Ostyn, Bob and Bev Garcia, Linda and Charlie Szafron, Barb and Jim MIller, and Ron Mercer and Pat Korloch. The County Fair was the weekend before, but any cleanup of the grounds was done before we got there (some by early arrival Michigan Knights). It was a very nice site with 30/50 amp and water. The lady in charge was very accommodating for us. We met first with a Happy Hour in the Cafe. It was very hot, but we did have some fans left over from the fair. We had so many snacks to share that we didn’t need dinner, but almost everyone went to the House of Flavors in Ludington – either to have dinner or have ice cream or both. TUESDAY: We had coffee and donuts as the rain came in. When it cleared out, exploring began. The Michigan Knights and Pat and Ron went to The Ludington Maritime Museum. Others went to Lake Michigan or shopped. We had a Pot Luck with chicken for dinner. After dinner, we played Musical Bingo. Mike Ostyn played music and then we’d cross the title out on our Bingo sheet. Everyone was singing along, and they always made sure we knew which box to cover on our sheets. It was so much fun that we played a second round. Thanks a lot Mike. It was so much fun!! WEDNESDAY: We had a full breakfast with two kinds of quiche made by the Michigan Knights. It was fantastic! Then most of us headed out to Amber Elk Ranch. We got to feed the elk and learn about the life of the elk and farmers on the ranch. After lunch, there was shopping and exploring. (The Ostyns and Garcias drove for miles and miles hunting for a rustic campground that no longer exists.) We came back to join everyone at Scotty’s, a nice restaurant in town. When we met back at the campground, we had a fireless campfire and Mike Ostyn told us the story of the Man with the Seersucker Suit. THURSDAY: We met for coffee and donuts and farewells. If you didn’t rush off, there was a yard sale nearby. The weather was great, and we all got along so well!! It was a happy time with lots of laughs and getting to know new people. |
