Standing Rules of Northern Lights Chapter of FRVA
CHAPTER STANDING RULES
1. The initiation fee shall be $25 per family unit member plus the cost of the Northern Lights badge(s).
2. The Chapter dues are $25 per family member unit.
3. Northern Lights family unit members may bring potential members or guests to rallies, camp outs, or dinner meetings.
4. Northern Lights family unit members must attend the last business meeting of the year to be eligible to receive any Chapter- or FRVA-furnished gifts.
5. Special recognition will be granted at the last business meeting to Chapter member(s) who attend every rally of the season. The Rally Master will check with the previous Rally Masters to determine who is
eligible and make the determination as to the type of recognition received. The cost of the recognition should come out of the Chapter treasury and not from the budget of this specific rally.
6. Members will wear their Northern Lights Chapter name badges at Chapter activities, camp outs, or dinner meetings. In addition, displaying name badges is encouraged in public locations away from the campground or rally area while in group events, such as in restaurants, on tours, in stores, etc. This makes it easier for members to associate names with faces and builds awareness. It also can generate interest among others who are not currently members, but who notice the badges and want to know about the group. The Sergeant-At-Arms, or someone appointed by the Chapter President may ask members without badges for a 25-cent donation to the Chapter’s petty cash fund.
7. During all official Chapter functions, such as happy hour, morning coffee, business meetings, and any other such functions, members shall leave all pets at their coaches.
8. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: An Associate Member is a former Chapter member who no longer owns a qualifying RV. An Associate Member shall be required to pay dues; however, he/she shall not be eligible to vote or hold elected office. An officer converting to Associate Membership may be allowed to complete his/her term of office.
9. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP may be bestowed on any person or member who has rendered significant service over a period of time. Associate Members will be eligible to attend meetings, if they so desire.
10. The Chapter shall pay the registration fee and full hook up for the National Director and spouse to attend one FMCA International Convention per year. The payment of this fee will not be made if payment would cause the Chapter’s bank balance to drop below $1,500.00. A partial fee may be made if approved by the Chapter’s Executive Board. If the Chapter pays and the member cannot or does not attend the Convention, the member is financially responsible for reimbursing the Chapter for the cost of the Convention.
11. First time attendees who are considering joining Northern Lights should pay the rally fee. They will receive a coupon for one free rally fee.
12. A separate coffee crew shall be chosen for each rally.
13. The chapter will provide new members with the Northern Lights egg holder.
14. A rally master can request a $200 advance for expenses to organize a rally.
15. A rally master can request a one-night camping fee to set up for the rally early.
16. Northern Lights will budget $500 for promotion of new memberships and maintenance of current membership.
17. The rally fee shall be $25 per RV beginning in 2022.
18. ORGANIZATIONAL YEAR: The fiscal and membership year of the Chapter shall commence on October 1 and end on September 30.
